Madeo partnered with the Equal Justice Initiative to design and produce a new microsite for Just Mercy, a powerful memoir from founder Bryan Stevenson about EJI, the people they represent, and the importance of confronting injustice.
A bestselling and award winning book, Just Mercy has been adapted into a major motion picture starring Michael B. Jordan and Academy Award winners Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson. Just Mercy tells the story of EJI from its inception, offering a harrowing window into America’s broken criminal justice system and demonstrating the power for mercy to redeem us all.
Madeo collaborated with the Equal Justice Initiative to create a dedicated microsite that introduces audiences to the work of EJI, the book, the film, and the individuals whose experiences are the foundation of the story. The interactive design features an introductory video message from founder Bryan Stevenson and allows visitors to learn more not just about Just Mercy, but serves as an entry point into EJI’s work to end mass incarceration and excessive punishment, challenge racial and economic injustice, and protect basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.
The website introduces a fresh visual approach for new and returning audiences, while emphasizing the mission that has guided EJI’s work since its founding in 1989. Animation is used throughout the site to create a dynamic experience for visitors and to highlight the many accolades Just Mercy has received since its publication in 2014.
