Founded in 1914, The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) is the professional organization for design. Its members practice all forms of communication design, including graphic design, typography, interaction design, user experience, branding and identity. AIGA NY is the largest chapter, committed to “Championing the future of design for all.”

AIGA NY is powered by a volunteer Board of Directors who are nominated and approved by its members. The nonprofit organization exists to serve the community and works to fulfill its mission across everything that it does.

Madeo partners on design projects that tackle meaningful issues for people. By joining the Board of Directors, Ramy Nagy hopes that he along with the rest of the Madeo team can contribute in more ways to support New York’s design community from a lens of social and community progress. “I am excited to help designers who want to channel their skills toward issues of social progress and with peers explore the broader role of design in our society.”

The AIGA NY Board of Directors is made up of a diverse group of design professionals that lead with collective governance. The Board strives to elevate the work and insights of all voices in design. They examine the designers’ impact on the world, support inclusive opportunities for design education at all stages of life, fight for fairer models of design work and compensation, and celebrate the joy and craft of design.
