Announcing: Madeo In-Kind

Our new program to support smaller nonprofits with a large-scale pro bono project, offering organizational rebranding, an awareness campaign, or creating a digital platform that serves communities

We are kicking off 2026 with a new approach to taking on pro bono projects. Inspired by our work with leading philanthropic foundations, we designed a new service grant program that is more transparent, accessible, and hopefully will deliver a bigger impact than we have ever done before.

Why we’re launching this today

Nonprofits across the United States are navigating an extraordinarily difficult environment, especially organizations working on progressive causes. Standing out, engaging audiences, and rallying supporters has never been more challenging—or more essential for mission-driven organizations.

As a branding and web agency, we’ve been fortunate to partner with larger foundations and nonprofit organizations on the kinds of strategic projects that create real transformation, like comprehensive rebrands, website redesigns, or holistic awareness campaigns.

We’ve seen what happens when mission-driven organizations have the tools to communicate their work effectively. Their complicated work becomes more relatable to the public. Their audiences not only pay more attention, but become more active supporters. Their fundraising efforts become more effective. And as a result, their communications work plays a much bigger role in supporting their mission.

But, these projects require big investments that most nonprofits cannot afford. So, bigger organizations continue to get more successful, while smaller nonprofits continue to struggle. It’s a cycle that’s hard to break.

What we’re offering

We are taking a “big bet” approach to support one nonprofit organization in 2026 with a large-scale in-kind project. The selected organization will work with a Madeo project team similar to how our larger nonprofit and foundation clients partner with us. We will put together a project team of up to ten Madeo experts who will work on planning, strategy, design, messaging, engineering, and implementation.

We will partner on this volunteer project from Summer to Fall of 2026. Across these months we will donate over one thousand hours to collaborate on a sizable project with transformational impact.

Organizations are invited to learn about eligibility and apply March 26, 2026 for one of three project types:

Organizational Rebranding: A comprehensive rebrand to help your organization engage more effectively with audiences, supporters, and donors—including strategy, visual identity, brand guidelines, and brand resources.

Awareness Campaign: A focused multi-channel campaign designed to raise awareness toward a critical issue, complete with its visual identity, campaign messaging and design, and rollout support.

Digital Product with Social Impact: Branding, product strategy, design, and engineering of a web app or digital platform that serves communities through awareness, action, or direct service.

More accessible to nonprofits

Each year, for the last 15 years, Madeo has donated hundreds and sometimes thousands of hours towards brand and website projects through in-kind work. But now, by structuring this effort as a public program, instead of simply reacting to organizations that reach out to us, we are hoping it will make this opportunity more accessible to more organizations.

As a program, the process will be more transparent. The effort will be more focused on supporting not any organization, but particularly the smaller organizations that need this form of in-kind support the most.

Help spread the word

If you work at a nonprofit that might benefit from this kind of project, we’d love to hear from you. And if you know organizations doing exceptional work—colleagues at foundations, friends leading smaller nonprofits, networks where this opportunity should be shared—please pass this along.

This is year one of what we hope will become an annual commitment. Helping us reach the right organizations is one of the most valuable things you can do to support this program.

Applications open January 26, 2026 and close March 26, 2026. We’ll be hosting informational webinars throughout the application period—sign up on the program page to receive updates and details.

We’re excited to learn about new organizations, meet their teams, and partner on work that serves communities in meaningful ways.
