About the Role

We’re hiring an experienced Senior Account Manager to further invest in our existing client relationships and new business opportunities. This role is about the relationship each client has with Madeo as a partner, not about managing individual projects, which our project managers lead. You’ll partner closely with PMs. While they focus on successful projects, your focus is on the health and growth of the overall partnership.

What You’ll Do

Oversee client relationships:

  • Serve as a senior point of contact between the client and Madeo as a company, trusted by the client team and decision makers to represent the work
  • Keep a clear read on the health of each partnership: whether clients feel heard, well served, and confident in the value of the work
  • Partner closely with project managers, who lead the day-to-day work and much of the direct client collaboration across projects and retainers, to keep the relationship and the work in sync
  • Stay connected to both the core client team and their leadership, listening for feedback on the engagement as a whole

Expand client engagements:

  • Get to know each client’s mission and challenges well enough to see where the partnership can meaningfully grow
  • Surface opportunities for new phases or expanded scope, always framed around what genuinely serves the client’s goals
  • Advise clients on when an ongoing retainer is the right fit, and help shape what that looks like
  • Translate what you’re hearing into thoughtful, well-scoped proposals, in partnership with leadership, operations, and project managers

Support new business:

  • Be an early, thoughtful point of contact for incoming inquiries, gauging fit and initial needs
  • Lead our response to new opportunities and RFPs, bringing the team’s input together into a considered proposal
  • Help define the shape and approach of a project alongside leadership and project managers
  • Articulate how we work in a way that’s clear, honest, and true to the collaboration clients can expect

What we are looking for

  • Agency client-services experience: You’ve partnered directly with clients, as a project manager or account manager, to deliver original websites, branding projects, or complex creative retainers in an agency setting.
  • Nonprofit & social impact: Ideally you’ve worked with nonprofits, foundations, or cultural institutions as clients, or you bring a genuine, demonstrated commitment to mission-driven work.
  • New business: You’ve helped lead proposals and conversations with prospective clients, and you’re eager to keep developing this side of your work with defined approaches and a supportive team.
  • Digital strategy (a plus): Experience advising clients on digital strategy is a plus. You’d be a thought partner to clients, even as our strategists lead the active strategy work.
  • Building the discipline: You are interested in continuously refining our account management standards and shared practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience across project and account management in an agency setting
  • Comfortable on a distributed, remote team working EST hours (10am to 6pm)
  • NY/Brooklyn is a bonus, but not a requirement
  • A senior role: we welcome applicants closer to Account Director level, but it isn’t entry-level or junior

Benefits & Compensation

  • Starting salary $100,000 to $120,000 commensurate with experience and may be adjusted based on your working location, if outside of NYC; with up to 20% of additional compensation as described below
  • Up to 5% additional income through 401k employer match
  • 10% to 15% of additional tentative income through discretionary end of year profit sharing and bonuses
  • Generous health, dental, and vision insurance benefits
  • Employer matched donations to causes you care about
  • Flexible PTO in addition to federal and team-wide days off
  • Remote work supported with occasional opportunities to get together
  • Significant investment towards onboarding, training, and your career
  • Room for growth towards Associate Director and Director level roles
